OXVA Xlim Pro 2 - just how good is it…

Spoiler alert, it's excellent!

TL;DR, it’s GREAT.

A handful of names have been dominant in vaping hardware for over a decade; Innokin, Aspire, Geek Vape and Vaporesso are a few that stand out. Every once in a while a brand pops up that causes a bit of a stir – in Oxva’s case it is no exaggeration to say they completely changed the game.

In 2021 Oxva released the very first Xlim kit, and it was an unmitigated success as soon as it hit the shelves. In a packed field full of worthy competition, the Xlim gained popularity due to its simple design, ease of use and amazing pods. Since then Oxva have gone from strength to strength.

Evolution of the Xlim series (the hits and misses)…

The original Xlim SE started the ball rolling, with a sleek (but let’s be honest, common) design. Boasting a 900mAh battery and an inhale-to-draw system that actually worked. We won’t name names, but the first pod kits without a button kind of sucked, Oxva’s Xlim was excellent straight out of the box.

The Xlim SE was in instant classic, we couldn’t get them into stock fast enough!

Next up came the Xlim – in this iteration, Oxva added a screen, a fire button and more sophisticated wattage options. The fire button is a matter of personal preference, but the screen was handy to get a quick read on remaining battery life. Being able to adjust the wattage by 0.5W from 6W all the way up to 25W was a massive improvement.

The original Xlim seemed perfect.

Following the unbridled success of the Xlim, Oxva introduced the Xlim Pro. The improvements appeared minor at first glance, but an additional 5 watts of output and a modest (but necessary) increase in battery capacity was gratefully received. Now is a good time to talk about colour options – there were LOADS! More than 20 in fact. For the lowkey vapers, plain black was an option. Want something a little more “you”? Try the Denim Blue or Coral Pink.

In all seriousness, if Oxva had stopped here we would still be more than happy.

After three major successes, Oxva hit a small bump with the Xlim SE 2. On paper, it sounded innovative with its voice announcements, but in practice, it didn’t add much. It was bulkier than it needed to be, and the talking feature wasn’t exactly necessary. Let’s just say it’s best suited as a quirky gift rather than your go-to device.

Now we arrive at the Xlim Pro 2 – all new for 2024. And what a kit it is!

Oxva have increased the battery capacity by a whopping 30%, made the form-factor slightly smaller and lighter, as well as including a bigger colour screen (all while keeping the price sensible).

The screen makes all the difference. It is now a multi-coloured affair that is so much easier to read. It might sound daft to get excited about a screen about half the size of a 1st class stamp, but the design is essentially perfect. It shows you all the vital information (battery life as an accurate numeral percentage, pod resistance, puff count and wattage), as well as the option for short animated “bursts” while you inhale (ok, that’s pointless, but the kit is so good we can forgive the gimmick).

In POD we trust…

Here’s where Oxva truly sets itself apart: the pods. For years, they’ve maintained compatibility across the Xlim series. That’s right—whether you’re using the original Xlim or the latest Xlim Pro 2, the pods are the same. Why? Because they’re perfect. These pods deliver outstanding flavor, last ages, are easy to fill, never leak, and are see-through, making it easy to monitor your e-liquid levels. Plus, they’re incredibly affordable. Oxva nailed the “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” mentality, and for that, we’re forever grateful.

Honestly, it makes virtually no difference which Xlim kit you use, from the SE to the Pro 2, you’ll get top quality results thanks to the pod. They are that good.

Xlim Pro 2 FAQs…

How long does the battery last?

This is always a hard question to answer, as all user’s miles will vary. However, unless you are using it constantly the Pro 2 will certainly last you all day without needing to be recharged.

How long is the warranty?

At Flavour Vapour we offer a no quibble 6-month warranty on ALL hardware.

How do I change the settings?

Everything on the Pro 2 is controlled by the single button.

Press and hold while inhaling to release the vapour.

Press twice to cycle through the screen animation options – there’s a 2 second firework display (no, really), a swirling galaxy option (yes, there is) and a plain Jane “normal” mode (that’s the one I use).

Press three (3) times to adjust the wattage. This will make the number flash, simply keep pressing the button until you reach your desired output. The Pro 2 has a minimum of 5W and a maximum of 30W.

Press five (5) times to turn the Xlim Pro 2 off – press five times again to turn back on again.

Press seven (7) times to reset the puff counter back to zero.

Which pods do I need?

The awesome Xlim pods are available HERE. They are available in 0.4Ω, 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω and 1.2Ω. The lower the number the more vapour you’ll produce – if in doubt go for the 0.8Ω option.

What's the best alternative?

There is a lot of competition at the £25 price-point, but nothing will offer you the same user experience as the Oxva Xlim Pro 2.

This leaves 2 main considerations, would you prefer a different shape kit or ideally something a bit cheaper?

If you can forego the screen, the Oxva Xlim Go is a great option, and it comes in well under £15. You still get to use the amazing Xlim pods but the battery life is marginally lower.

Fancy something square? Give the Argus A pod kit a whirl - with a screen that rivals the Pro 2, this kit from Voopoo does, in fairness, give the Oxva a run for its money (the pods are great, but the Oxva edges ahead in this regard).

Should I get one?

Short answer - yes.

The Xlim Pro 2 is a game-changer. From its crystal-clear screen to its extended battery life and timeless design, it’s hands-down one of the best kits available. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for something for the weekend, the Xlim Pro 2 delivers. Oxva isn’t keeping up with the big names—they’re leading the charge.
